So that means we will level you down or up one class if you are not in the right class. (Money will not be refunded) If you sign up and pay for one class, you can only come to that class, even if you miss some weeks you can NOT compensate with other classes, otherwise, you can buy a drop-in card.
If the class, it’s too difficult or easy? You can try all the classes the first week and make the change that week, not after.
Beginners or level 1: Never danced before, we start from scratch.
Basics or level 1: We start from scratch, but you should have some knowledge of the dance.
Improvers: In this level, people were dancing beginners or the basics course for 12 weeks before, you need to do the basics or know how to dance all the basics already.
Intermediate: Have danced for a year or more, have done at least 1-2 full semesters, and you are a regular social dancer.
Intermediate/advanced: You are already social dancing and controlling the basics very well, you should be able to follow and lead easy turns with no problems on the social dance
Advance: Have been dancing for close or around 2 years, and normally go out to social dance, and are good on it.
Bachata Show Team: In this class, we will make a choreography for a show where we can present it on different events and cities.
This class its open for everyone but you have to sign up with a dance partner and know how to dance Bachata. You will learn a lot of styling, hit the brakes on the music, dips and tricks, and more.
We will have 2 to 3 min of choreography with bachata and some other mix song.
For Salsa L.A On1 & Mambo On2
La Timba (musicalmente) is nothing more than the evolution of Cuban popular dance music. It is a music rich in musical effects or embellishments (musicality), also very fused, meaning that in this danceable musical genre, the musician or composer uses elements from other Cuban and Afro-Cuban musical genres (Son, mambo, chachachá, pilón, rumba, Afro-Yoruba, among others).
For the Timba dancer: It is very important to have a high level of musicality, interpretation, and quality of movements because these three pillars are fundamental to your development as a Timba dancer. If you want to learn and develop your Salsa… Timba is the next level!
Son cubano has African and Spanish heritage and involves many Cuban instruments, as well as guitar and percussion.
The dance is more traditional than Salsa and instead of bursting energy, you will find elegance in a pure form of dance
Son Cubano songs are similar to salsa, only slower. The choreography consists of three steps in a row followed by a pause. The difference is that every step is more energetic and clear (like in mambo) and with an accentuated hip movement.
Solo dancing holds a multitude of benefits within partner dance styles. The term ‘shines’ or ‘footwork’ typically encompasses solo patterns, intricate steps, body movement, and footwork that extend beyond the basic dance steps. On the other hand, ‘footwork’ give you better balance, speed, flavor and better control of your body.
Afro Rumba Cubana Body movements:
In this class, you will learn to understand your body (body movements) and acquire dance techniques that will help make your movements clean and perfect (Quality Movements). You will also learn to move your entire body with confidence and independence, resulting in achieving the ability to dance with Cuban Style!
Salsa con Rumba:
In this class, we will learn how to recognize and interpret Rumba correctly in Cuban Salsa or Timba. Currently, more than 60% of Cuban popular dance music (Salsa or Timba) contains many elements of Rumba in its three variants (Guaguancó, Yambú, and Columbia). Do you want to learn how to dance Rumba? Do you want to know how to introduce Rumba into your Salsa? This is your opportunity!
So when we talk about Bachata Fusion in particular, we’re talking about a fusion of all Bachata sub-styles and other dance genres like Zouk, Kizomba, Salsa, Merengue and even Hip-hop! It’s a way to take your favorite elements of all these dances and combine them to create something unique that is uniquely you, yet within the recognizable structure of the original Bachata dance.
It’s a fun and creative way to express yourself on the dance floor!
YOGA FOR DANCERS:
Welcome to Yoga for Dancers- (all levels)
In this class, we focus on improving our flexibility, strength, and balance using techniques and Yoga postures to create a mindful connection between movement and breath.
This class I suitable for all levels as we work from our own body’s needs and limitations.
