ABOUT OUR COURSES

Welcome to our beginner courses at Dance Vida!

In our classes we speak English, but you can also talk to us in Swedish and Spanish.

These courses are for absolute beginners. We start from scratch and you don't need any previous dance experience.

You don't need to sign up with a dance partner to take part in our classes, we rotate partners every 2 minutes in our classes.

If you want to sign up with a dance partner and not rotate, this is also possible.

During these 2 weeks you will learn the basics and be able to socialise with anyone in the world who can dance these dances.

Get ready to learn, have fun, meet lots of people and make new friends through dance!

WHAT WILL WE LEARN IN SALSA?

Salsa is one of the most popular dances in the world, full of energy and joy - perfect for meeting new people and making friends.

During these weeks we will learn the basics and fundamental steps of salsa, such as: Mambo, Rumba, Cumbia, turning right, turning left, follow-and-lead technique, basic partnering combinations for social dancing, as well as how to give your body flavour and movement in the salsa way.

Salsa has two major styles, Salsa Cubana and Salsa Line Style.

After these introductory weeks, you can choose to continue with Salsa Cubana for beginners and/or Salsa Line Style for beginners.

If the beginners' classes feel too easy, you can switch to improvers' salsa classes at any time.

WHAT WILL WE LEARN IN BACHATA?

Bachata has passion, sabor, energy and a strong connection between partners - it's very easy and fun to start dancing in just a few hours!

But bachata is a bit different...

Bachata has 3 major styles: Bachata (Bachata Modern) - Bachata Sensual (Bachata with body waves) - Bachata Dominican (The traditional bachata)

During these weeks, we will learn the most popular bachata style danced all over the world, "Bachata (Bachata Moderna)".

You will learn the basics from the beginning, the technique of leading and following, how to add flavour to the hip movements, and the flow of bachata.

After these weeks, we recommend that you continue with Bachata Moderna for two terms, and then you will be ready to move on to the Bachata Sensual or Bachata Dominican styles.
